The IP Code (Ingress Protection Rating) classifies the degree of protection provided against the intrusion of solid objects (including body parts like hands and fingers), dust, accidental contact, and water in electrical and electronic equipment

The standard aims to provide users more detailed information than vague marketing terms such as waterproof or dustproof. Both the T180 and XWT5 rugged smartphones comply with IP67

Solid particle protection – 6

The first digit indicates the level of protection that the enclosure provides against access to hazardous parts (e.g., electrical conductors, moving parts) and the ingress of solid foreign objects such as dust.

6 Dust tight No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact

Liquid ingress protection – 7

The second digit indicates the level of protection that the enclosure provides against harmful ingress of water.

7 Immersion at depth of at least 1 m measured at bottom of device, and at least 15 cm measured at top of the device. Harmful quantities of water will not enter the enclosure – Test duration: 30 minutes

We believe IP 67 compliance is an essential feature of any tough or rugged phone.
